Tulsa officials want to hear your input on city services.
Residents are asked to fill out this year’s “Evaluate the 918” survey to share their thoughts on animal control, public transportation, parks and more.
City Auditor Nathan Pickard told The Eagle it’s part of an effort by his office to increase public engagement.
Since being elected in 2024, Pickard has seen his role as “listening to the community and making sure city services are matching” their needs.
Beyond getting feedback about quality of services, the survey is also seeking to gauge public trust in city leaders and neighborhood cohesion.
“We’re not just learning about the City of Tulsa meeting your needs but also … are we meeting each other’s needs as a community,” he said.
The office will start analyzing the data at the end of April, but Pickard encouraged residents to continue filling out the survey into May and beyond.
Once they review the data, the auditor’s office will take it back to the city’s department heads for discussion. Then, they’ll compile their findings in their annual audit plan which must be finished before Tulsa’s fiscal year starts in July, Pickard said.
Only around 300 people completed the survey in 2025. That’s less than 1% of the city’s population, which is greater than 415,000. A majority of respondents suggested the city prioritize fine tuning its processes around addressing homelessness and completing road projects.
So far this year, the city has already received at least 300 responses.
Once the data is collected and analyzed, Pickard’s office hopes to host a series of community conversations around their findings.
Deputy City Auditor Mike Stout told The Eagle that the community conversations will be “an opportunity for us to say, ‘So, here’s what we heard, here’s what we did with it. Here’s ways that you can continue to stay engaged and involved with our office.”
You can fill out the survey online, which the office estimates takes about 10-15 minutes to complete.
Participants can also be entered into a drawing for a $100 QuikTrip gift card. Once you complete the survey, you’ll have the option to leave your contact information to receive a notification when the results are available.
